We’ve been in the event and party hire industry for over 30 years and specialise in creating spaces that are unforgettable for all the right reasons. We pride ourselves on being industry leaders and thrive when presented with a challenge.
From Australia’s biggest music festivals and sporting events to the most showstopping weddings and corporate functions, we’ve earned a reputation for combining quality products with attentive customer service.
If you have a bold vision for your event, we’ll pull out all the stops to make it a reality. If we don’t stock an item you’re after, we’ll source it or built it. And when everything is unveiled on event day, we’ll be the ones smiling in the corner as you make lifelong memories.

Why create with us?
We make the impossible plausible.
We once got a PlayStation delivered to Robbie William’s Rochford dressing room in under 30 minutes. No isn’t in our vocabulary. If you want an event set-up that’s different from the norm, we’ve got the contacts and ‘can do’ attitude to make it happen.
We don’t stock the same old stuff.
We offer a large range of equipment and event décor that is not only top quality but often one-of-a-kind. Gayle has personally designed some of our furniture pieces to bring more variety to the Australian market.
We’re industry experts.
We’ve trained in hospitality, run a successful catering company and been in the event industry for over three decades. Our experience means we understand the intricacies of creating an exceptional event from the plumbing to the pendant lights.
We’re hands-on.
We won’t handball your event installation to an offsider or junior employee. Our owners will be onsite before and during your event to make sure everything is set up exactly as promised with a high attention to detail, safety and quality.
We always have a plan B, C and D.
If an unforeseen event throws a spanner in the works, you can trust us to have a contingency plan. Our industry experience means we know how to swiftly and effectively deal with most scenarios including Victoria’s unpredictable weather.
We’re safety obsessed.
Not many event hire companies have a builder at the helm. We do. Our marquees are installed by a registered building practitioner and have current VBA Occupancy Permits and Engineering to Australian and New Zealand Standards.

Our Story
Picture it. 1998. The Backstreet Boys were fighting The Spice Girls on the charts and we (owners Michael and Gayle) were planning our wedding in the Yarra Valley. When we told vendors we wanted a black marquee with a clear roof, black linen and décor that included tommy gun props, they thought we were joking. We weren’t.
Determined to tie the knot our way, we had to hire equipment from five different companies on top of dealing with suppliers for the cars, flowers, cake, stationery, you know the drill.
After a lot of headaches, everything was set up with 24 hours to go. Cue torrential rain.
The marquee we’d hired ripped in half and water poured into our reception space drenching everything. We laugh about it now but at the time, not so much. A last minute scramble meant everything was fixed and we ended up having the most incredible night with our family and friends.
Later, we reflected on the experience. We knew we had the skills, experience and mindset to take the worry and work out of event planning. Michael was running his own catering company so it felt like a natural progression to expand into event hire. And so, Prestige Events was launched.
What started with one peg and pole marquee and three linen colours soon grew into an event hire company working on 200 weddings a year
While we’ve scaled back to ensure we can provide a highly personalised service to our clients, we’ve certainly built up a resume since 1998. We’ve not only created some of Australia’s most spectacular weddings, we’ve become the go-to installers for leading music festivals like A Day on The Green and major sporting events like Lorne’s Pier to Pub.
We’d proud to report that no event has had a ripped marquee or a drenched napkin. We knew we could do events better and we’ve proven ourselves right.
